Simple and surgical extractions, including wisdom teeth, when a tooth cannot be saved.
When a tooth cannot be restored comfortably or safely, extraction may be the kindest next step. Dr. Nguyen provides simple and surgical tooth extractions — including wisdom teeth evaluation and removal when appropriate — with clear after-care guidance.
What are Tooth Extractions?
How It Works
A simple extraction removes a visible tooth that can be loosened and delivered with instruments. A surgical extraction is used when a tooth is broken below the gumline, impacted, or otherwise needs a small incision or sectioning — common with some wisdom teeth.
We confirm the need with exam and imaging, review medical history, and numb the area thoroughly. After the tooth is removed, we place gauze, review home care, and discuss replacement options (implant, bridge, or partial) when you want to plan ahead.

- Stops infection from spreading when a tooth cannot be saved
- Wisdom teeth removal when crowding or pathology warrants it
- Clear after-care instructions for healing
- Honest talk about whether extraction is necessary
- Replacement options discussed when you are ready

What to Expect
We explain why extraction is advised versus saving the tooth. You will know what to eat, how long to bite on gauze, and when to call if swelling or bleeding is unusual. Insured patients can request a free benefits check; self-pay estimates are discussed before treatment.
